The University of Tennessee Space Institute invites applications for a
full-time, Research Associate in the Aviation Systems Program. Candidates
for this position are expected to have Bachelor of Science and Master of
Science degrees or higher in engineering (technology degrees do not satisfy
this requirement), preferably aerospace engineering. Expertise in any field
of aerospace/aeronautical engineering will be considered, such as
aerodynamics, flight controls, propulsion, structures, instrumentation,
flight systems, and human factors. Flight test/research experience is highly
desirable. Duties include support of engineering associated with the design,
fabrication, and integration of experimental flight test hardware onto UTSI
research aircraft; assisting in the planning and conduct of flight research
as a pilot or flight crew member; assisting in the conduct and teaching of
academic courses and flight and simulation laboratories; assistance in the
acquisition and management of research contracts; and other duties as
assigned by Aviation Systems Program Chair. Salary dependent upon education

Search 1173. Center for Laser Applications.
Postdoctoral Research Associate. One
vacancy, regular, full-time.
The
University of Tennessee Space Institute seeks candidates to fill a
post-doctoral fellowship at the Center for Laser Applications of the University
of Tennessee Space Institute for interdisciplinary projects involving molecular
imprinting and chemical sensing. A
Ph.D. in Chemistry or a closely related field with a record of peer-reviewed
publications is required. Applicants should have experience in chemical
synthesis, purification, spectroscopy and electrochemistry. A strong background
in chemical sensing is preferred. The ideal candidate should be highly motivated
with demonstrated ability to carry out independent research.
