An employee must submit a written request for military leave to the
Associate Vice President through his/her supervisor. This request must be accompanied by a copy of the official military order calling him/her to active duty. After review and following approval by the
Associate Vice President, the request and attached orders are sent to the Human
Resources Director.
For short tours of active duty, the employee receives his/her regular wages or salary. Annual leave, continuous service credit, and other benefits continue to accrue, and performance are not impaired. This is limited to a period not to exceed fifteen work days in one calendar year, plus additional days as may result from any emergency call to active state duty.
Out-processing and in-processing will be accomplished for periods of extended active duty as outlined in Procedure 355, Leave of Absence.
