  2. Co-op Wage Schedule:
    1. Listed below are the Co-op wage rates in effect:

      Work Period Hourly Rate
      1st $ 7.35
      2nd 7.75
      3rd 8.20
      4th 8.60
      5th 9.00
      6th 9.40
      7th 9.85

    2. Co-op wage rates are applied generally according to the following notes:

      1. For students on quarter rotation (quarter at worksite, quarter at school), the first work period rate is normally provided to a beginning Co-op who has had not previous episodes of work in a technical area (of at least a quarter's length). The second work period rate is normally provided at the second work period. This sequence normally continues until the conclusion of the individual's Co-op experience.

      2. For students on semester rotation (semester at worksite, semester at school), the first work period rate is normally provided to a beginning Co-op who has had no previous episodes of work in a technical area (of at least a quarter's length). The third work period rate is normally provided at the second work period. This sequence (work period 1, 3, 5, 7 rate) normally continues until the conclusion of the individual's Co-op experience.

      3. For students on one year placements (one continuous year at worksite), the first work period rate is normally provided to a beginning Co-op who has had no previous episodes of work in a technical area (of at least a quarter's length). After four months of work, the Co-Op is normally provided the 3rd work period wage rate. After eight months of work, the Co-op is normally provided the 5th work period wage rate. The Co-op supervisor is responsible for requesting rate increases under the provisions of this paragraph. There are no automatic increases in wage rate.

      4. In certain limited cases a Co-op may be provided a wage rate for a work period higher than those indicated in the above paragraphs. This is only applicable in cases where the individual has had former episodes of work equal in length and rigor to those typically encountered in a Co-op placement. The Human Resources Director participates in the assessment of such former work experience and must approve the recommendation to provide a wage rate higher than what would otherwise prevail. The work supervisor is responsible for requesting review for higher than normal wage rates. In no cases will wages be paid to a Co-op which are higher than 7th work period wages.
