Subject: Wage and Salary Payments

The following pay days and payroll deadlines shall be observed except when Holidays and/or Days of Administrative Closing necessitate changes:

  1. Monthly payroll:

    1. To be effective for the month in which the action is taken, all appointments, changes of status and pay adjustments must reach the UT Payroll Office by the 10th of that month. To allow sufficient time. for preparation and processing of actions by the UTSI Human Resources Office and the appropriate office(s) in Knoxville, all actions should be completed and forwarded to the UTSI Human Resources Office not later than the 3rd of the month. This includes as appropriate retirement forms, visa information, changes in hours worked for Graduate Research Assistants, terminations, pay deductions, and overtime compensation.
    2. The monthly payroll is released on the next to the last working day of each month at 4:00 p.m. All Graduate Research Assistants must turn in their signed time reports to the Human Resources Office before receiving monthly paychecks.

  2. Biweekly payroll:

    1. All biweekly payroll actions and supporting documents must be received in the UTSI Human Resources Office prior to the effective date of the action. Time reports must be turned in to the UTSI Human Resources Office not later than 8:30 a.m. of the Monday following the pay period ending date.
    2. The biweekly payroll is released at 12:00 p.m. on the second Tuesday following the pay period ending date.

  3. Supplementary Payroll is released on the 10th of the month after being received and properly checked by the UTSI Human Resources Office. A Supplementary Payroll is not produced in July and December.
